Loud music was playing from one of the stands and a large women was dancing to the beat, I was a little surprised when Tammy jumped right in and started to dance with her. Everyone cheered on the white lady and I realized that in four years of living in Africa Tammy had forgotten she was white. That was also apparent when she decided to stop and buy a wig. I think she is changing her name to Tawanda.
Wow, Do the Ghanaians love the “O’brunies”-that means whitie. They shouted it to get our attention as we walked around. They sure got excited about us. One thing I learned quick is that they don’t mind staring you down. Even when you look back they keep on staring, which kind of creeps you out but you just give them a big ol’ smile and wave and they smile right back and you now feel like they are your best friend. That's one thing I loved the most about the culture.
Don’t mind the men sleeping everywhere. When they want a nap they go ahead and take one where ever they want.
I was amazed how graceful all the women looked as they walked around with loads of stuff on their heads. Some even with babies on their backs as well. I must be a wimp.
To top it all off, we even got to see a taxi hit a guy on bike.
When you watch the video keep in mind that Ryan was very nervous of getting in fight for filming someone who might not want to have been filmed. So for those of you who know Ryan and how calm and collected he is, it’s kind of funny to see him so jittery.
